Mashaba hopes to make Bafana shine

Mashaba has named several youngsters in his squad for the next two CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sudan and Nigeria, in the hope of building a team for the future.

After Shakes Mashaba’s South African U20 side, Amajita, went through to the finals of the CAF Youth Championships beating Cameroon 2-1 at Peter Mokaba Stadium to progress 3-2 on aggregate, Mashaba will be hoping for yet another win, this time with Bafana Bafana.

Bafana will face Sudan in Khartoum on Friday before returning home to take on Nigeria at the Cape Town Stadium on September 10.

The coach said looking from now until 2022, they need to take into consideration the age group they need in the team.

Mashaba warned his opponents to be wary of his team ahead of CAF qualifying matches.

He is confident that his players are capable of giving him the necessary results.
