Nedbank team ready to face Pirates

Bafana Bafana Coach, Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba to lead the Nedbank Ke Yona team against Orlando Pirates.

The Nedbank Ke Yona Team will face the Nedbank Cup defending champions, Orlando Pirates next month.

The venue of the game has not been decided yet.

Led by newly appointed Bafana Bafana Coach, Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba, the Nedbank team has been hard at training preparing for the game and Mashaba is confident of a positive result and is looking forward to leading the team to victory.

He said the boys have had numerous training camps and friendly matches where they identified all the areas that need improvement and are working hard at training with just a few technical aspects to be sharpened.

The team’s keeper Luthando Sixhasa finds it hard to believe that he will be playing against one of the best teams in the Absa Premier League and said he will do his best to help his team and is looking forward to meeting the Buccaneers players but the ultimate achievement for him would be to keep a clean sheet against the Nedbank Cup champions.

The squad was shaped by veteran coaches including Mashaba, former Golden Arrows coach, Khabo Zondo, former Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates coach, Owen Da Gama and Mike Mangena who is regarded as one of the legendary strikers to have ever come out of the country.

The team has played friendly matches against Supersport United, Bidvest Wits, University of Pretoria and United FC in preparation for the game against Pirates.
