Castle Superstars announced

Bafana Bafana's future looks bright.

Through its Together For Tomorrow’s Bafana soccer talent scouting initiative, Castle Lager has announced its final team of the top 23 players after three days of trials.

The trials were supervised by South African soccer legends Phil Masinga and Neil Tovey and four other top coaches.

The Castle Superstars represent some of the local soccer talent aged between 18 and 21 and will continue with the development camp until January 20.

A total of 45 youngsters took part at the trials and Masinga said the last three days have been quite involving for the youngsters, and have taken them through various types of training sessions and all of them have shown a lot of promise as future soccer stars.

He said their task was to come up with the top 23 players and is confident that the list they have come up with is the best and deserves to be part of the Castle Superstars team.

“They definitely have the potential to be tomorrow’s Bafana players,” said Masinga.

During this period, the Castle Superstars will continue with training and development activities that will include physical training and coaching, and five friendly games with NFD and PSL teams.

This exposure will give the youngsters the opportunity to be scouted by some of the country’s premier soccer teams.

Castle Lager’s general manager, Alastair Hewitt said the talent they have seen this time has been outstanding and is confident that the youngsters will go very far with their soccer careers. “We are excited that through the Together For Tomorrow’s Bafana process, some of these youngsters will be taken up by First Division and PSL teams,” he said.
