BLFA hands out their trophies for the season

The Bosmont Local Football Association hosted their annual presentation of trophies and honour veterans in the world of local soccer.

The Bosmont Local Football Association (BLFA) hosted their annual presentation of trophies on November 30 2013, at the Rahima Moosa, Nurses Hall, Riversdale Street Coronationville.

The winners were presented with their trophies for the league or knockout cup titles they won during the 2013 season.

Juveniles that are aged from five to ten do not play competitively but rather for proper development purposes.

For U11, U13, U15, U17 and senior’s league competitions and knockout competitions for each division is contested.

For the seniors the Carrim Dharsey Challenge Cup the Most prestigious kick out cup is contested in addition to the kick out and Leagues Competition.

This year one of the oldest football clubs in the BLFA, the Dazzlers FC won the treble in the Super League.

They won the League, the kick-out Cup and the Carrim Dharsey Challenge Cup.

The BLFA will also have acknowledged the strides made in School Association Football.

A partnership was established with schools which include Newclare, Westbury, Coronationville, Bosmont, Riverlea and Noordgesig NEWESCO BORN schools.

Dreamfields Primary Schools League Competition and the BLFA in getting a league started.

The league playoffs were contested in October 2013 and Dowling Primary eventual winners if the inaugural league competition will be honoured.

This is the third year that the BLFA will honour those great football administrators, technical officials and players, which made a great contribution to the sport of association football.

The event had keynote address from Ralph Hendricks.

Other guests were Gandhi Adams (Football Legend), Mandy Davids (Football Legend), Cavin Johnson, (Supersport manager) and Phil Mogodi (Soweto FA SAFA JHB Exco).

“Announcement of R5.6 million upgrade to Bosmont sports facilities which will be happening earlier next year,” said Michael Kahn.
