Mapaseka 'Speed star' wins a car from Spar race

“I have worked very hard to get to where I am and I must say hard work really pays".

Soweto athlete Mapaseka ‘Speed-star’ Makhanya the darling of SA Athletics, has won herself a brand new car from Spar.

Spar Ladies Grand Prix Series competition, in which she partook in, lasted from March and ended earlier this month.

The SPAR Women’s 10km Challenge was made up of five races which were conducted in various places countrywide.

Makhanya came second on the 1st race, third on the 2nd, first on the 3rd, first on the 4th and thirteen on the 5th race.

“I have worked very hard to get to where I am and I must say hard work really pays.

She has represented South Africa close to 10 times in challenges that happen in and across the border.

“I have competed with SA’s well recognised athletes and in some I emerged victorious,” she said.

Makhanya thanked Spar for reassuring that women athletes get a platform to showcase their talent.
