Coca-Cola gathers youngsters together through sport

The focus was on team building and getting pupils to be active.

Bryanston High School is one of the schools which competed in the Coca-Cola T20 schools challenge with 25 of its athletes taking part.

The concept of the competition was aimed at getting pupils to participate in physical activity in different kinds of sport.

One of the participants, Dylan Wingrove said this was a great initiative from Coca-Cola.

The youngster captains the school’s rugby first team and plays first team cricket and swims as well.

“We had such fun and the vibe was fantastic.

“Personally I found the first exercise, the shuttle drill, the most difficult and I found it difficult to get the ball on the cone.

“Most people found the skipping the most difficult,” said Wingrove.

The Coca-Cola Challenge was held on the same day as the schools fun day where pupils participated in different games including rugby, cross country, swimming, cricket and netball.

The focus was on team building and getting pupils to be active.

“This challenge added a new dimension to the day and fitted into our objectives perfectly,” said one of the organisers, Loriene Tolstrup.-
