Every child has a right to human decency and an opportunity to attend school without any hindrances. This is the reason why these organisations dedicated themselves in assuring that a black child is not left behind due to not having toiletries.

Martha Tlhagale from Metropolitan Life said, “We are hoping to build their confidence and keep them at school because if you do not have these basic necessities, you begin to isolate yourself.

“So we want these children to always look forward to going to school and not feel different from other learners. This is a basic need not a want.”

It is not every day that a boy child is included or considered when it comes to matters of building a child.

However, it is important to not only remember the boy child when there are heavy objects to carry but also to remember that they also deserve to be shown love.

“We saw it necessary to include a boy child because they are also kids and they deserve to be taken care of and showed equal love like girls. We are trying to build the confidence of a boy child and keep him at school,” Tlhagale explained.

To offer words of gratitude for the learners of his school, Principal Richard Masemola hopes that these donations create a culture that makes learners not miss school because they do not have sanitary towels or soap to bath.

“We take these donations very serious and we are grateful for them.

“This means our children deserve a right to a good life.

“To create an environment where our girl child is free to come and ask for a sanitary towel and not miss school because they do not have,” said Principal Moasemola.
