Parents were provided with important information about the school and what is offered while learners were participating in different activities that were part of the Open Day programme.

“We usually have a number of Open Days during the year and we generally have them on weekends to avoid disturbing the curriculum teaching time.

“Usually we choose a day where a lot of activities take place so that parents can be exposed to different things,” explained the Executive Head, Shanette Tiquin.

The school invited 13 different schools for sports tournaments and programmes such as public speaking, matric extra lessons as well as economics competition.

“I am actually enjoying the Open Day experience. There are activities for small children and also the environment, kids, parents and teachers are very welcoming,” said a parent Makgotso Thupudi.

Thupudi added that she was glad that the school prioritise learners’ career options which makes it easy for children to choose subject wisely.

Leaners were very excited to meet new people and make new friends from other schools.

“I am really enjoying the Open Day as it shows people from outside how good and dedicated our school is. What I have enjoyed the most about today is watching different sports matches. I am also happy that they added sport to entertain the people,” said a Grade 11 learner, Lesego Serole.
