Company starts campaign for 2025
A round table with financial experts delved into how emotions affect finances.

Metropolitan hosted season five of its We Start 2025 Stronger Campaign, which saw financial experts explore the connection between money and psychology on February 4.
The campaign at Melrose Arch featured a discussion with financial experts, including chief marketing officer at Metropolitan Lindiwe Gumede, head of association at the Affinity Group Rapule Mahlangu, clinical psychologist Dr Tshepiso Matentje and personal finance expert Mapalo Makhu, about how emotions affect finances.
In an interview with the media, Lindiwe Gumede said the campaign is a way for Metropolitan to protect its clients’ financial dreams and educate them on becoming financially fit.

“We held this campaign because we want to share the educational information most simply. We want to share the tips and tools our clients can use to be financially successful.
“We also see many people tend to have financial goals at the start of the year, but somehow, they fall off,” she said.

According to Gumede, having such campaigns is vital because they represent the journey towards financial empowerment, especially in our communities, where, in the past, there was no knowledge around finances.
“This empowerment helps us make the right decisions and understand our worth and finances, enabling us to become financially successful as a community.
“This campaign impacts you as an individual, and we hope you share this information with friends and family because we know a successful community is a successful nation,” explained Gumede.
Gumede said Metropolitan would continue this conversation throughout the year and bring more tools, tips and experts. People should look for the content series on social media platforms.
