JMPD clarifies application process for pointsmen positions

JMPD warns the public against misinformation on pointsmen job openings and urges public to apply through official channels.

JMPD has raised concerns and clarified the misinformation surrounding the application process for the advertised pointsmen positions.

In response to the increasing public inquiries, the department emphasised that all applications must be submitted through the official advertisement posted on the City of Johannesburg’s (JoC) website.

JMPD spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla urged the public to disregard any unofficial sources of information, including social media posts or rumors, which have been circulating inaccurate details about the application procedure.

“The only legitimate way to apply for these positions is through the official advertisement on the CoJ’s website,” Fihla said.

The official advertisement, available on www.joburg.org.za under the ‘vacancies 2025’ section, provides crucial information about qualifications, application steps, and deadlines.

Fihla reiterated the importance of following the official channels to ensure that applications are processed correctly and fairly.

“We are committed to ensuring a transparent and equitable recruitment process,” said Fihla.

“By applying through the official platform, candidates can be certain that their applications will be properly recorded and considered.”

The JMPD encourages all qualified individuals to apply as the department seeks dedicated individuals to serve the community.
