Programme exposes Eldos learners to new horizons

Gang's to Grace grooms learners through their early intervention programme as they take learners on an inspirational journey.

As part of the Gang’s to Grace early intervention programme, a group of selected learners from Eldorado Park recently embarked on an enriching excursion to Kliprivier and Rietvlei nature reserves.

The outing, aimed at broadening the boys’ perspectives, was part of the Bridging the Gap initiative, designed to equip them with essential life skills and encourage academic excellence.

The executive members of Gangs to Grace are chairperson Pastor Kester Fisher, deputy chairperson Milton Bowman, secretary Ralston Davids, deputy secretary Terrence Green, treasurer Cleodore Lemmetjies and additional member Patrick Golden.

According to programme organisers, the initiative identifies learners with potential, as nominated by their teachers, and provides guidance and mentorship to help them reach their full potential.

Youngsters enjoyed their day filled with activities and life lessons.

“Our goal is to expose these young minds to different activities, sparking their interest and motivating them to excel in school,” said a programme facilitator.

“Consistency is key to achieving greatness, and that’s the message we drove home today,” said Fisher.

The programme’s objectives include providing early intervention and support to learners needing guidance, exposing learners to diverse experiences beyond their community, fostering academic excellence and personal growth and bridging the gap between Eldorado Park learners and their peers from other areas.

Their programmes focus mainly on early intervention against social ills, with schools being a specific target in efforts to empower learners with tools to avoid many social ills that they are exposed to.

By investing in these young lives, Gangs to Grace aims to empower a brighter future for Eldorado Park’s next generation.
