The highly anticipated Glamping Expo, scheduled to take place on October 28-29 at Nasrec, Johannesburg Expo Centre, promises to unveil the latest innovations and opportunities in Africa’s thriving glamping sector.
According to Dudu Sithole, co-founder of Glamping Expo and award-winning glamping practitioner, the Glamping Expo presents a unique platform for stakeholders to tap into the vast potential of Africa’s glamping market.

“We are excited to host the first glamping expo and showcase the entire glamping ecosystem, from premier products and establishments to service providers and financial backers.”
The event offers opportunities across the value chain, including eco-friendly accommodations and products, destination development and marketing, financial investment and funding, innovative glamping structures and technologies and service providers, including construction, design, and management.
Showcasing innovations and best practices
Sithole said the expo will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Jillian Blackbeard, Sisa Ntshona, Faith Meyer, Siphelele Luthuli, and Alex Lazarou.

Topics include sustainable tourism, glamping construction regulations, investment opportunities, green energy solutions, and innovations within the glamping space.
She said expected attendees include glamping resort owners, tourism boards, international marketers and retailers, suppliers and innovators of eco-friendly accommodations and products, outdoor enthusiasts, travel agencies, tour operators, and designers and architects specializing in outdoor accommodations.
Attendees can learn about new glamping destinations in South Africa, such as the newly upgraded Babanango Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal, Mopane Bush Lodge and glamp stays along the Garden Route.
