Mangaka Tau, a seasoned facilitator in learning and a communication coach, hosted the workshop.

Makhotso Motswana, the project manager at the foundation, said due to the overwhelming positive feedback, they plan to host a follow-up advanced workshop in the coming months to further develop the skills of interested participants in the community.

“We are also considering expanding our sessions to focus on specialised areas like speaking for business pitches, media interviews and public relations.

The workshop’s success underlines the importance of strong communication skills in all aspects of professional and personal life.

“We were thrilled with the outcome and look forward to continuing to provide value to our community through such initiatives,’’ said Motswana.

The ability to break down the difficult principles of public speaking into manageable parts was appreciated.

The attendees gained much from the hands-on criticism of their speaking styles, body language, and voice modulation.

The curriculum content was developed using a combination of theory, real-world practice and peer reviews.

This unusual structure allowed individuals a secure area to test their speaking skills, receive constructive criticism and apply improvements quickly.

Many expressed how much the workshop had boosted their confidence.

Noxolo Matoti, an attendee, said, “This workshop taught me how to speak confidently in front of an audience, how to own my message and connect with people on a deeper level. It was informative.”
