A suspect was arrested on September 13 after being found with a stolen car and causing an accident while on the run in Meadowlands.
It is said SAPS officers from Roodepoort were hunting the stolen car when a JMPD officer patrolling the Meadowlands area in Soweto received a radio alert about the hijacked vehicle, saw a suspicious vehicle speeding and chased it.

This resulted in a car crash, causing the suspect’s car to overturn and hit three pedestrians and a parked car.
Two pedestrians sustained minor injuries, while one was seriously injured.
The driver of the parked car was also injured and taken to Baragwanath Hospital.
The JMPD officers commended the SAPS members for their quick response in retrieving the stolen car and their dedication to public safety.
The male was arrested and held at the Meadowlands SAPS on charges of possession of a hijacked car and reckless and negligent driving. The car was booked at the SAPS Lenasia vehicle pound.
