Braamficherville beauty pageant queens recently donated blankets to the Dora’s Arch Children’s Home in Roodepoort.

About 40 blankets were donated with the intention of providing basic necessities to individuals in need to assist them get through the harsh winter months.

Speaking to Urban News, Braamficherville beauty queen mentor, Petunia Malingisa said, “The initiative was inspired by our commitment to community welfare and the desire to make a positive impact.

We have recognised the urgent need for warm clothing and bedding in underserved communities, and we wanted to take action to address these needs.

Malingisa further commended the beauty queens for their hard work and dedication in making the initiative a success.

“To our beauty queens, I want to say that their involvement in initiatives like this truly makes a difference.

“Their dedication and compassion are inspiring, and they are not only role models in beauty but also in heart and spirit,” said Malingisa.

“They must continue to use their platform to uplift others and make a positive impact on the world. And they must remember, beauty is not just about appearance but it’s about the kindness and love they share with others.”

Several stakeholders including Sesli Blankets, Kutlwano Malingisa Foundation, local community leaders, and community-based organisations dedicated their time to supporting the initiative.

Founder of Dora’s Arch Children’s Home, Thembi Hadebe said she is appreciative of the kind gesture made by the Miss Braamficherville title holders.

“We greatly appreciate everyone who contributed to the initiative’s success. These blankets will benefit many individuals in our home, and we hope that their kind deed will continue to benefit others,” concluded Hadebe.
