Gospel artist makes waves locally and internationally

Her career gained further momentum in 2020 when she was nominated for the Mzansi Media & Music Awards (MAMAs) in the category of Best Upcoming Artist.

Tshepiso Moabelo is a gospel artist born and raised in the suburban township of Lebowakgomo in Limpopo. Her passion for music was inspired by her mother, Phuti Albertina Moabelo who is a God-fearing woman.

From the age of 10, Tshepiso began leading songs at Sunday School unaware that this would be the foundation for her future as a gospel artist and worship leader.

In 2016, she released her first single titled Ke Gofa Tsohle (Lord, I Give You Everything in My Heart).

Her career gained further momentum in 2020 when she was nominated for the Mzansi Media & Music Awards (MAMAs) in the category of Best Upcoming Artist.

This achievement led to the release of her first music video for Ke Gofa Tsohle.

“I was so excited to be nominated for the Mzansi Media & Music Awards which really boosted my music career and it also gave me hope and solidified that I’m on the right track,” said Tshepiso.

“It also gave me the confidence to continue producing music hence later on I was able to release my full studio album which was a dream coming true for me. Though the journey has not really been an easy one, I had to trust God and also the process of waiting for bigger platforms to open for me.”

Tshepiso’s music has since gained international recognition from different radio stations in the United States of America.

She is also a nominee for the Independent National Gospel Music Awards (INGOMA), where she is recognised in the categories of Best Newcomer and Best Worship Album.

In 2023, she recorded a live version of her single Waiting on You, which was released on April 26 this year.

The single is currently available for streaming on various platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer and more.

“Waiting On You is basically just to encourage people to not lose hope in waiting for their breakthrough.

“There’s a set time for everyone, and we need to learn to wait for God’s timing, don’t be in a hurry for fame, it will come at the right time,” she explained.

“It is also about reminding people that we are waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are not waiting in vain. His promises are yes and amen.”
