Kgosana was introduced to Hip-Hop music and the culture by his brother and his brother’s best friend, who was also a rapper in 1996.

He started his music career in 2004 when he was just 14 years old.

“I remember watching an artist by the name of Lil Bow Wow for the first time on television and was immediately sold. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a rapper,” said Kgosana.

A rapper by the name Ghetto Prince recognised his talent and helped him with writing rap song.

He also taught him how to rap properly and helped him develop his new found passion for the rap game.

Bigg Daddy Jay mentioned the likes of Masta Ace, Nas and Pro Kid as the artists who inspire him the most and look up to when it comes to his music career.

This is because they are good storytellers and they have good penmanship.

“After witnessing a slight decline of the hip-hop culture in my neighbourhood, I wanted to recreate the spark of rapping by engaging with true hip-hop heads through challenging them lyrically.

“I am preserving the integrity of hip-hop music and that is the main purpose of this project release,” Kgosana explained.

The Soweto-born hip-hop artist wishes to one day collaborate with Maglera Doe Boy, Priddy Ugly and Coast Contra from the United States.

“I wish to see my music being recognised worldwide and one day I would like to have my record label that looks and works for the artist’s best interests.

“So far, I have a project that was produced back in 2017 with a fellow artist by the name of Macthemonk and this upcoming one will be my second solo project,” Kgosana said.

“This project touches on faith, motivation, inspiration and good vibes. It will also make listeners understand life from the perspective of men in modern-day society.”
