SAPS explores career day with learners

The day excited learners as they looked at various opportunities that are in the police service.

Eldorado Park SAPS members alongside Safer South Africa Foundation visited Silver Oaks Secondary School at Hereengracht Street, EXT 4, Eldorado Park, on August 6.

According to Eldorado Park SAPS Communications Officer, Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, the station and Safer South Africa have embarked on an 11-day awareness programme.

She said the aim and objectives of the visit were for the Eldorado Park SAPS to present different career paths the SAPS has to offer to Grades 8, 9 and 10 learners.

The presentation focused on the required qualifications and criteria for applying in the SAPS. It also spoke to various factors that can hinder them from getting employment.

“This was a very good initiative as the learners were enthusiastic and participated well by asking relevant questions,” said Sergeant Khobo.

The police also presented on crime and arrests to various stakeholders on August 7. The stakeholders included the Eldorado Park SAPS Vispol Commander, GBV team, social crime, Communication Officer, Safer South Africa Foundation, Traffic Wardens and prosecutor.
