Eldos rapper nominated at MAMAs

Eldorado Park raising star, MK Supreme (20) has been nominated for the Best Hip-Hop Artist in Gauteng at the fifth annual Mzansi Arts and Media Awards.

MK Supreme real name Kyle Ruiters from EXT 3 was acknowledged as a significant emerging music producer and rapper.

While he does not have widespread mainstream recognition, his work has been praised for its authenticity and lyrical depth.

The youngster has won over 30k online streamers’ hearts with songs like 2AM Thoughts and Come From.

He was also featured on records like All of Me by Bashyrsa and Cold Hearts by Bashyrsa ft JK Dadon.

Some of his fans went as far as nominating him to contend for the Artist of the Year award.

MK Supreme was bitten by the music bug at the age of 16; however music was only a hobby for him then.

After noticing the excitement from fans, he began making it easier for his supporters to access his music by releasing through various digital platforms in 2023.

His music often reflects the realities and stories of Eldorado Park, on various issues like gangstarism and social ills affecting the youth.

He said Eldorado Park has been viewed as a place engulfed by violence which overshadows the talent that it has to offer.

“I am extremely excited; it is going to be my first music award show to attend as a nominee. I am proud that I managed to get this far in less than a year of releasing music,” said MK Supreme.

He is known for his unique style that blends local South African culture and influences with broader hip-hop elements.

“Winning this award would mean a lot to me, it would prove that hard work and being consistent with your work is rewarding,” said MK Supreme.

“My future plans are to succeed in the music industry and put Eldorado Park on the map and show SA that there are other things besides violence in Eldorado Park.

My deepest gratitude to everyone who supported me even when I felt like the music was not working out,” he concluded.

The awards ceremony will be held at Victory Theatre, Houghton Estate, Johannesburg on September 21.
