Protea Glen church hosts inspiring Soweto Boys Seminar

“It’s not really about the number that we are targeting but if we can get one boy who has been impacted by the message from the seminar we would have achieved great.”

Founder of Boys Mentorship South Africa, Mpumelelo Buthelezi hosted a seminar to mentor young boys coming from all parts of Soweto.

The seminar was held at the Christian Family Church International Soweto (CFCI) in Protea Glen.

He said the goal behind these seminars that are spreading all around Gauteng had always been to encourage young boys and bring them closer to God hence they are hosted in different churches.

Buthelezi also shared his life experience of once being an addict and living on the streets.

“It’s not really about the number that we are targeting but if we can get one boy who has been impacted by the message from the seminar we would have achieved great.”

During the seminar, the young boys participated in a few activities that were given by Buthelezi.

In these activities, boys were divided into groups to share their views on the topics they were given such as their vision of where they are going, who they are, and where they come from.

Pastor Isaac Nemurura from the CFCI said, “My biggest highlight in the group activity was when the boys were telling us about their backgrounds and the kind of families they come from, for me that was touching. I wish I could do something to ease the pain they come from.”
