“Why not try something different for R500 annually or just R50 a month?” said Melville Koppies volunteer Jenny Grice.

“Your season ticket to Melville Koppies will give you free entrance for 50 Sunday mornings a year.”

“The uneven, rocky paths will improve your balance, build your muscles and increase your bone density.

Frequent uphill climbs tick the cardio boxes, and the wide-open spaces, forested areas, and 360° views will do wonders for your mental health.

A group of friends with season tickets use the 5km hike to get fit.

“You can join the 8km group guided hike on the last Sunday of the month.”

Melville Koppies is open every Sunday from 08:00 to 11:30.

Do not forget the second Sunday of the month poetry reading and open mic session, and there is the scavenger hunt for those with exploring minds.

Safe parking is available opposite the entrance to Melville Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.

Entrance costs R90 for adults and R50 for those under 18.

All income goes to maintaining the Koppies.

Security is provided on the Koppies.
