Four suspects arrested for murder following a shooting incident in Eldos

Eldorado Park SAPS arrested four male suspects aged between 18 and 30 on charges of murder following a shooting incident that occurred at Leiklip Street Eldorado Park, on June 23.

The SAPS members alongside the Anti-Gang Unit and Crime Intelligence were conducting the Teka Hinkwaswo Operation when they received information about a shooting incident at Leiklip Street.

According to the Eldorado Park SAPS Communication Officer, Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, upon arrival at the scene, members of the Crime Prevention Unit found the victim lying on the street, with multiple gunshot wounds and four empty cartridges.

The operation aims to deal with contact-related crimes, especially carjacking, gangsterism, firearms, drugs, and armed robberies, and monitor all the hotspots areas like the Golden Highway towards the N12.

“Crime Intelligence driven information assisted us to trace and arrest four alleged suspects within the 72-hour turnaround time.

“The suspects were detained at Eldorado Park SAPS for further investigation,” said Sergeant Khobo.

“We have not established whether the shooting was gang-related or not yet, and the firearm was not found with the alleged suspects.”
