Man busted for unlicensed firearm and attempted murder in Eldos
The Eldorado Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit was responding to gunshots they heard while patrolling when they saw the alleged suspects driving off in a white VW Golf.
A 26-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, reckless and negligent driving and attempted murder at EXT 1, Eldorado Park.
The Eldorado Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit was responding to gunshots they heard while patrolling when they saw the alleged suspects driving off in a white VW Golf.
As the police chased the suspects, one of them started shooting at the police; they retaliated and returned fire.
“One of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran away, the other suspect was arrested and detained at Eldorado Park SAPS for further investigation,” said Sergeant Khobo.

Khobo said police recovered a weapon that resembled a firearm, adding that, the real firearm was with the suspect who ran away.
The Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Maluleke has pleaded with all community members to report any criminal activities and known suspects to the police.
