Nozipho Phiri who was born in 1990 in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, is a renowned gospel musician and songbird known for her powerful vocals and inspiring performances with Joyous Celebration.
Phiri will share her extraordinary gift to the world with a solo live album recording on June 29 at the Goshen City Church in Westdene, Johannesburg.
The album is set to be a transformative experience, blending traditional South African gospel elements with contemporary influences that highlight Nozipho’s versatility as an artist.

She is not only a musician but also a graduate who has obtained her BA in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Zululand as well as a Certificate in Teaching (PGCE).
She was also a member of the Isithembiso Group based in Emandlankala where she worked with local artists before joining Joyous Celebration.
Her musical journey took flight in 2010 when she competed on South Africa’s gospel show I Want To Sing Gospel, making it to the top 10.
She then joined the prestigious Joyous Celebration, where her dynamic performances on hits like Mayenzeke, Mukhulu Ujesu, and Ngizokulandela solidified her reputation as a vocal powerhouse. However, all of these were just the beginning for the gospel singer and vocal coach.
As the highly anticipated recording day gets closer, Nozipho entices her fans with the promise of special surprises and potential collaborations.

Throughout her faith journey, Phiri has faced challenging times, including the heart-breaking loss of both her sister and mother within a short period.
Despite these immense trials, she discovered the necessity to delve deeply into her faith and persevere in ministering through music even amidst her grieving process.
