She indicated how long she has been waiting for his arrival since mid-morning.

“There are lot of changes I would like to see in my community. We are suffering, our children are suffering and we don’t have anyone to assist us,” said Wessie.

She also spoke about how she is doing this not only for her, but for her grandchildren as well as they will benefit should they put their trust in the same political party she has voted for.

Mashaba also spoke on how he is concerned about the message he received in the morning regarding one of their City of Johannesburg Councillor, Sello Mabelebele who was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted.

He also spoke about an issue that happened three weeks ago where their premier candidate also went through the same ordeal.

“This is actually quite worrying for us as ActionSA. We are under attack because our Councillor who was attacked yesterday and assaulted was told to leave politics.

“If anyone is going to threaten us, one thing for sure is that we will face them and we will face them head-on. This is our country and we are not going anywhere,” Mashaba said.

People continue to visit their voting stations since morning to cast their votes.

Some residents are being denied access to vote on the stations they did not register at.

They are requested to go and cast their votes at their registered stations.

Mbali Moboya, one of the residents that casted their vote for the very first time spoke on how happy she was to finally be able to engage in decision making for her future of South Africa.
