Moshoete was born the only female amongst her four brothers and being the last born made her work twice as hard to keep up with her brothers when they went to look for greener pastures.

As a mother, she would even do hard labour to provide and send her children to school.

“She has deprived herself a lot of things to send us to school as the only parent after our father passed away when we were still young. We are so grateful for her good parenting skills.

“Even when it was not favourable for her to sometimes do so, she has taught us a lot of things as a mother,” said Rebecca Sebetlele, one of her children.

Grandchildren spoke about how they were raised with love by her and how the birthday party was a token of appreciation from them.

Although aging very old comes with a lot of complications and memory loss, Moshoete is blessed enough to be a 100-year-old who has few of these complications, she can still interact with her family and friends.
