The speaker of Council, Councillor Margaret Arnolds was the programme director of the day and she gave the attendees a chance to raise issues that concern their wards and ask questions after the mayor had delivered his speech.

Eric Ndlovu from Pimville Zone 9, Ward 22 spoke on how the area requires its police station because when crimes have been committed and needs to be reported, residents have to travel a long distance to get assistance at police stations that are located elsewhere.

“We also request a park in our area in the empty spaces that are not occupied and used as dumping sites. Our customer service office also needs some renovations,” Ndlovu said.

Ward members asking the MMCs and the mayor questions and raising concerns.

After the community members made their input and raised issues that need to be attended to by leadership, the MMCs responded and showed interest in working with the community to fix those issues

“We are willing to come and see some of the issues and to work with residents in their areas. Some of the issues that you have raised as a community are for the government of the province.

“Issues of police stations and schools are under the provincial government but because we are one government, it does not mean we can’t help those councillors to help you achieve what you want at the end of the day, so we must work together,” MMC for Development Planning, Eunice Mgcina responded.
