Eldos police arrest four suspects and seize unlicensed firearms

Last week the Eldorado Park SAPS members arrested four suspects aged 18, 19 and 21 years old for the possession of unlicensed firearms.

Driven by the spate of gun violence and gang killings in the area over the last two weeks, the Eldorado Park SAPS decided to conduct several operations, one of them being operation Skoonmaak which has yielded very good results.

“Unlicensed firearms and ammunition are the driving force behind serious crimes such as murder, car hijacking, house robbery, business robbery and armed robbery,” explained Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Mkhacani Maluleke.

“My goal is to work together with all community stakeholders who are willing and who are sharing the same vision which is to reduce crime in the area, especially where firearms are concerned.”

All the exhibits were booked and the four suspects detained for further investigation and they will appear in court soon.
