Motorists robbed at gunpoint on M1
Motorists urged to take precautions when driving in Crown Interchange.
Motorists traveling on the M1 Crown Interchange have been warned to be extra vigilant.
This comes after a group of men allegedly robbed motorists during peak traffic on Tuesday morning.

Pictures were shared on social media where motorists stuck in traffic on the M1 and M2 split were allegedly robbed at gunpoint.
JUST IN: About five armed suspects took advantage of the traffic jam during peak hour on the busy M1-M2 split at the Crown Interchange. No reports of injuries or fatalities have yet been received with some social media users suspecting illegal miners of being behind the crime.
It is reported that they were armed with 9mm pistols and doing smash and grabs.
Reports are that JMPD called on motorists who were robbed on the M1 North, to report the incidents to the police.
An inquiry sent to JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla, included questions about what preventative action will be taken by metro police. Soweto Urban awaits comment.
