Service delivery in Mofolo South addressed

After accepting responsibility for the service delivery delay, Ngalonkulu was requested by the community to address the Klip Valley River’s river flow in order to prevent flooding prior to the rainy season.

November 09, marks a new path of hope at Mofolo Park, as ward counsellor and reginal Director hosted a public dialogue for Mofolo South residents.

With the rainy season in progress, residents of Mofolo South are concerned about the sporadic flooding that occur preceding the festive season.

“The most vulnerable and affected residents are particularly the ones on the outskirts of the township facing the Klip Valley River” claims the Mofolo South residents.

As anticipated, a number of complaints about service delivery surfaced in the public dialogue, including community street light and maintenance, infrastructure development and crime prevention technique.

During an engagement with community members

Regarding the ward 37 bridge building plan, Justice Ngalonkulu, Region D(2) Regional Director made conjectures focusing on the bridge on Mofolo South at Nancefield Hostel along the same road.

“The approved design plan for the bridges is due in the next three months.” Ngalonkulu assures the community.

He further reminded the residents of their right to demand service delivery at all costs so as to keep the relative departments responsible.

Additionally the community asked him to try and provide some employment opportunities for the young people who had organised themselves to clean the occasionally flooded bridge caused by eroded soil after rainy seasons.

The Regional Director then committed to hosting regular progress meetings in the ward liaising with the ward councillor Papi Chetsanga for any new developments.
