Miss Secondary Soweto open for 2024

The annual pageant will be open to girls between the ages of 15 to 21, in high schools in Soweto or outside, but should be staying in Soweto. The competition is open to all sizes, shape and body types.

Entries and registration for the Miss Secondary Soweto 2024 are officially open until next year.

The beauty pageant for teenagers, aspiring models and beauty queens returns in search of the next face.

The event draws thousands of teenage girls to compete for the title of being an ambassador and a voice of teenage girls in Soweto.

“We are excited to see the next crop of talent. It’s exciting working with young teen girls and developing them intellectually, socially and physically.

“These are the future women and the choices they make today will determine their tomorrow. Women play an important role in society,” explains founder, Kabelo Modisane, who runs a modelling academy.

Miss Secondary Soweto 2023 event held in August where they crowned Tshepiso Magoa as the new Queen.

According to Modisane, the pageant was founded to uplift communites and develop the future Miss South Africa.

Unlike many pageants, Miss Secondary pageant doesn’t do auditions, instead the selected group of models will undergo gruelling training and rehearsals to ramp walk, model etiquette and grooming among others.

He said this was especially necessary to drive women empowerment and skills transfer to young girls.

“We want to build a community of young girls who will support, empower themselves and one another as they venture into the real world.

“We want the pageant to link them with great women and expose them to individuals who are thriving in their industries,” he told the publication.

The pageant recently crowned this year’s winner, Tshepiso Magoa in August at the Soweto Theatre where it marked a five year milestone in the beauty and pageantry world.

Registration will remain open till March 2024, and the finale is planned for August at the Soweto Theatre with the date yet to be confirmed.
