Local foundation launchs afternoon school program

Over 300 local children along with their parents came to the afternoon school programme launch where entertainment and food parcels were provided for them.

Kasi Hero Foundation launched their very first afternoon school programme for local learners on October 05 at Pimville Zone 9.

According to Kasi Hero Foundation chairperson, Ndivhuwo Liphadzi because of the influence that digitisation is currently having on the world, the foundation recognised the need to lunch the afternoon school programme so as to teach local children about technology.

“Through this project we are aiming at bringing change. We know that education is important so we want to make sure that the children we feed on our daily soup kitchen see the need to take education seriously,” said Liphadzi.

The foundation was thrilled to receive donations from Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation (CGIC). The donation compromised of computers, learning containers, chairs and food parcels.

During the handover of the gift

Credit Guarantee Mitigation Consultant, Kamogelo Radebe said through the donations the company aims to provide a platform that will help children grow as well as provide an opportunity for them to have an advantage of learning and getting extra education.

“We are very grateful to Kasi Hero Foundation for giving us the opportunity that allows us to be part of this huge initiative. So today we are here to donate learning containers so as to provide a safe environment for the children to study,” said Radebe.

“As parents we are truly grateful for what Kasi Hero Foundation does for this community. Most of us here are unemployed and we depend on grants to survive, so seeing such initiatives bringing change really does help us a lot. I hope this foundation will continue growing and have more sponsors,” said one parent who attended.
