“Imvuselelo, which means revival will celebrate South African music heritage with a showcase of renditions of some of the most recognised South African anthems performed by our talented students and teachers,” said Tshegofatso Matabane of the Morris Isaacson Centre for Music.

Matabane added that the event aims to revive the spirit of the forgotten icons of the South African music industry, by igniting and connecting the new and old generations, all in the spirit of Ubuntu in celebrating our heritage.

“The experience will be the melting point between classical music instruments, indigenous instruments and local South African music as well as a grand showcase of the amazing abilities of our students.

“The concert will feature live acts from MICM Ensembles, orchestra, band choirs as well as children of ECD centres. Food and drinks will be sold by Grubworx, a local food joint from Chiawelo.”

Residents and guests are encouraged to make donations at the door to support the music centre’s fundraising efforts.
