“As fathers to young girls, we have been made fully aware that there are families in our community that struggles to provide sanitary towels for a girl child whenever it is time of the month, so that’s why we took it upon ourselves to provide sanitary towels to a girl learner in any school around Soweto, every year in August,” said Ntshala.

Ntshala added that people need to know that bikers are not hooligans and they are not dangerous but they are human beings who are trying to give back to the community and also play a positive role to the society.

“I find it encouraging to see a group of men coming together to bring change in the community especially for a girl child. Honestly it makes me thrilled to see that we still do have men who are willing to take care of a girl child without expecting any sexual payment in return,” said JMPD officer, Georgina Nxumalo.

During the distribution of the sanitary towels

“I would like to thank the JMPD and the Greater Soweto Bikers for taking their time and coming here in our school to donate sanitary towels for the learners.

“Most students in our school come from disadvantaged families so this initiative will help bring change to our schools,” said Beyers Naude Principal.
