In football, the newly crowned champions had to dig deep in all their fixtures proving that the tournament is fast becoming one of the most competitive school tournaments in Johannesburg.

Their first assignment was against Matshidiso Secondary School where the match ended in a 0-0 stalemate, resulting in the match having to be decided on penalties which went 5-4 in favour of Madibane.

An even tougher assignment awaited them in the semi-finals after an evenly balanced match between them and Riverlea High School concluded with a highly-entertaining 1-1 draw, resulting in the match being decided on penalties which again went 8-7 in favour of Madibane.

In the finals of the tournament, it was yet another evenly tied encounter, this time against Seana Marena Secondary School.

Both sides had an equal number of chances to clinch the title but had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate which was decided on penalties in favour of Madibane.

Looking at the netball division, Madibane was just as dominant, having a clean sweep of all their matches to round it off in style with a 13-11 win in the final against Seana Marena to win the double.
