Eldos Boxer shares his motivation behind his unbreakable successful record

Local boxer stays determined to protect his title and his family.

Hoosein Isaacs (33) is a three-year boxing heavy weight champion (2021-2013) from Eldorado Park. The husband and a father of four shares with his community how he maintained the standard of winning for three years in a row.

For one to constantly win and protect their title not only twice but three times without fail, definitely proves that there is something right that they are doing and the support from loved ones elevates one’s spirit.

He explains how his family is the key driver of his wins, “I always want to do better. One thing that keeps me going is the support I receive from my family.

“Because I need to be in a certain weight, my family changes the entire menu. I have the opportunity to train hard and master my craft because of them.”

According to Isaacs, boxing has always been something that keeps him grounded and his escape from his demanding profession and life. Boxing offers a sense of comfort and mental stability.

“Prior to being a boxer, I was lazy and my life was not productive. Today I have a healthy mindset and I am open to reading and journaling my visions down,” he says.

Isaacs shares his four values that he received from boxing and says, “I have core values that I call them four F bombs. Faith, Family, Fitness, Finance and I believe if you achieve all these. They will ultimately lead you to the fifth F bomb which is Fulfilment.”

Being all things all at once can be stressful and demanding and some might cheat one responsibility of being present for their children because of securing their future.

Isaacs’s wife Carmen Isaacs states that, “Hoosein is a loving father and has a good relationship with the kids. Having a positive active father figure in the home is important especially in the community we are in.”

The society has this time frame ideology that instils the spirit of fear and comparison amongst individuals.

The idea that by the age of 27, you should be working towards building a family and securing your financial future, which after your youth has passed it is impossible to be an athlete.

However, Isaacs did not allow the societal norms to silence his childhood passion of being a boxer. After going through life’s circumstances and wrong decisions, he kicked off his boxing career at the age of 27.

“A lot of boxers are at their prime level by age 27 and are heading towards their retirement. But that was when I started my career and following on my childhood dream,” says Isaacs.

“I push myself so hard because of my children. I want to prove to them that it is still possible even after I made wrong decisions in the past, drugs and gangsterism did not determine who I wanted to be,” he adds.

Sometimes you do not have to open an organisation to implement change in your community. The way you carry yourself and the decisions you take as an individual can have a great impact on the people that secretly look up to you.

“I am not a man of many words, even with my children. What I am doing must be evident and my turning point should be a testimony to the youth of Eldorado Park. You can still turn your life around,” he concludes.
