Local football club thrilled with soccer kit donation

The young ladies will now feel embraced as well as appreciated and all thanks to Kaizer Chiefs and Toyota for the difference they brought to the women’s football squad.

Kaizer Chiefs and Toyota Heart on Sleeve initiative donated a soccer kit to Zola Real Glasgow football club on Mandela Day with the purpose of giving back to the community.

The local football club then held a soccer kit distribution ceremony for the girls football team, where the players received the entire uniform, including the jersey, shorts and socks on July 21, at the Zola sports facility.

According to the Chairperson of Zola Real Glasgow, Patrick Ntshayisa, with the soccer kit that the team has received, the young ladies will now feel embraced as well as appreciated and all thanks to Kaizer Chiefs and Toyota for the difference they brought to the women’s football squad.

“It is so amazing to see people from the higher level recognising the team, this means a lot to us and the community as well, from now on we are aiming at sustaining the relationship we have with Kaizer Chiefs and we hope that all will go as planned,” said Ntshayisa.

The football club acquired a total of 120 soccer uniforms for the first team, girls’ team, the under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 20. The initiative did not only provide the soccer kits but it also upgraded the Zola sports facility by painting the walls, waterproofed the roofs and also donated office furniture.

“We are eternally grateful for the kind gesture that Kaizer Chiefs and Toyota showed us.

“We requested for donations from the initiative and they did not hesitate to respond to our request, so we are truly grateful for this opportunity,” said the Marketing Manager of Zola Real Glasgow, Velaphi Mtshali.

The local women football club plans to enlist more young girls to join the team and groom them properly in order to launch a branch of women that will be affiliated with Kaizer Chiefs and act as an inspiration to the future generation.

“On behalf of the Zola Real Glasgow team, I want to thank the Kaizer Chiefs family for this wonderful gift. This amasing soccer kit will make a huge difference to the women’s football team,” said the Zola Real Glasgow club coach, Mito Matola.
