Couple arrested after murder of two boys in Soweto

The two suspects have been scheduled to appear before Protea Magistrate Court on Friday 28 April.

Gauteng Police have made a major breakthrough in the murder case of Tshiamo Rabanye (6) and Mduduzi Nqobizitha Zulu, (5).

Police have arrested 50 year-old woman and her 39-year-old partner in connection with the murder of the two boys.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Masondo, the two suspects were arrested for the gruesome murder on Tuesday, April 25 and have been charged with murder.

“Yesterday the 25th April following a forensic investigation at the boys homes, the teams brought in two suspects for questioning,” he said in a statement.

The team was established by the provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Maswela, after the mutilated bodies were discovered at Moraka dam and the second body at Rockville.

The two boys were discovered with their throats slit, mouth, nose, and the foreskins of their private parts cut off.

The police at the time said they suspected that the brutal murder was linked to ritual practices.

The duo will appear before the Protea Magistrates Court on Friday April 28.
