Suspect nabbed for car theft in Eldos

On Good Friday, a 23-year-old male suspect was arrested by the SAPS PES FLEXI Unit for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.

The SAPS members received a tip-off from an informant regarding a suspicious white in colour BMW motor vehicle along Allie Lucas Street, Eldorado Park.

Acting on this information, the Police located the vehicle and when the suspect noticed the SAPS members approaching, he drove off at a high speed and attempted to flee.

The members gave chase and with their strategic planning and performance, managed to apprehend the suspect.

Eldorado Park police spokesperson, Sergeant Roxanne Gibb said preliminary investigations revealed that the said vehicle had been hijacked the previous day in Protea Glen.

“The 23-year-old male suspect was arrested and detained for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and will appear before the respective court. The exhibit will be used for further investigation,” explained Sergeant Gibb.
