Cycling Beyond Boundaries member of gets a bike

Local cyclist with cerebral palsy receives a special gift.

Edenvale resident Usiphile Njeje received a gift of a specially crafted bicycle on August 28 from Rand Road Warriors.

Njeje is a member of Cycling Beyond Boundaries, a charity dedicated to introducing children with diverse abilities to cycling.

Cycling Beyond Boundaries was one of the selected charities for the Edenvale Marathon.

The charity founder, Doctor Jacqui Bunge said Njeje was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and had never experienced the joy of riding a bike.

“She has always been scared of riding,” she explained.

The bicycle, uniquely designed to suit Njeje’s specific needs, was crafted in Cape Town and shipped to Johannesburg for the handover.

This thoughtful customisation ensures that every child can experience the freedom and joy of cycling, regardless of their abilities.
