It was also during this period of losing herself; she discovered her spiritual calling after a long time of suffering from undefined medical conditions.

26-year-old Malebogo Motlhasedi has added ‘published author’ to her list of successes, turning her passion for words into a book form, sharing life’s harsh lessons.

The Dobsonville raised Motlhasedi launched her first published book, Faith ‘Time heals almost everything’ over the weekend at her former high school, Forte, where she launched the first and second edition of the Faith series.

In her books, which feature an autobiography she recounts her life story, providing readers with a close view into her childhood, through his experiences and downside as a young woman on a quest to forge a name for herself. The second book, titled Poems and Quotes, conveys her emotions and thoughts as a creative writer, also hoping to foster healing, hope and inspiration through poetry.

“Both books were written to be inspirational messages and offer insight into how I have been able to keep going even in difficult times. The purpose of this series is to help people who may be going through a similar challenge or on the verge of giving up to remind them not to give up,” the 26 year old said.

Motlhasedi, who is a qualified teacher and part time tutor, began writing the series in July of 2022 and she completed both books within three months, which she tells Urban News were some of the hardest months.

It was also during this period of losing herself; she discovered her spiritual calling after a long time of suffering from undefined medical conditions.

“The months in which I wrote the books were probably the hardest, I was going through a lot and I wanted to find comfort.

“When life just kept giving me blow after blow, that really threw me in a corner and as a person who contemplated suicide, writing became my escape,” she recalls.

The two-time graduate said the books are fun, emotional, and relatable and shares a new outlook in life. She urged bookworms and ordinary people looking to be inspired to get a copy of either or both books.

She shared that her next move was ensuring that the books get into libraries; a process which she said had begun with the National Library.

“I am excited to see people would receive the book. My goal right now is ensuring that it reaches the masses and hopefully can be found in bookshelves, especially within public libraries, or used as study material or case study for literature classes in schools,” said Motlhasedi.
