According to Zoleka (68), her son is an introverted individual who loves his family, especially his two children aged nine and 13 years and would never go out without alerting his mother about his whereabouts.

Viwe Hade was last seen leaving Extreme Lodge on a camera footage sent to the publication.

Zoleka who is currently in their home village in the Eastern Cape says she was shocked when she tried to reach Viwe on his cell phone days after he went missing, and she then asked his girlfriend who was also trying to reach him to go check up on him where he is renting in Dlamani but Viwe was nowhere to be found.

“My son is a person who usually goes out with friends but he always calls to alert me that he is safe when he gets home, so this really shocked me.

“Two days after seeing that he was nowhere to be found, I asked his girlfriend to go open a missing person case at Diepkloof Police Station since I could not do it and was at home,” Zole said.

She added that the five friends that he was last seen with were also requested to help search for him. They started searching at Bara Hospital, mortuary and nearby police stations but unfortunately he is still not found.

His family also requested CCTV camera footage from Extreme Lodge which was also sent to Soweto Urban. In the footage, Viwe was seen leaving the premises alone and walking into the streets.

“I feel so helpless because he is my only child. I cannot even eat without thinking where he is or if he is safe. We are really pleading with the community to please assist us as we look for him because I am really not coping and so are his children,” Zoleka said as she broke down.

She added that this has affected her to a point whereby she cannot take her chronic medication properly.

“I have been in and out of doctors due to this, my sugar diabetes is also reaching to the roof because I cannot imagine my life without him and having to think that he might be out there in the cold without any food and medication really breaks my heart.

“Relatives are also in and out of our family home to check on me and offer their support but this alone makes it feel like we have started mourning him.”

Zoleka said the justice system has failed her family and alleged that police have not been helpful and have them a run around.

“We have a case number but the police are dragging their feet. I have always seen how ineffective the South African justice system is but now that I have to experience the poor treatment first hand, in my own home it’s really heart breaking. All am asking from them is to help me find my son and bring him home alive.”

Viwe is light in complexion, tall in height, has a beard and a brush haircut and was last seen wearing a white polo neck, black jacket, khaki chinos and military green sneakers.

Residents with any information that might help find him are urged to contact Diepkloof Police Station or his mother on 079 863 9192 or on 063 013 4360.
