According to Dr Tshegofatso Mathe, this idea has been with her for four years and has been waiting for the sign to put it into existence.

“It took me a whole four years to this dream come to life because I wanted to make sure that the women God will entrust me with will be in the right hands. I needed to have the right people and sponsors on board so that each woman has an impactful journey,” said Mathe.

This is a programme that wants to develop women holistically through workshops, mentoring as well as coaching.

“I want these women to develop spiritual wellness and when they leave, they come out even better than they were when they entered,” Mathe explained.

Pageants promote goal setting and will truly inspire a contestant to search her soul, think about the future and make a plan on how to get there. Sometimes, the pageant, itself, is a stepping-stone to achieving those goals.

Mel Tlhapi (38) from Mofolo decided to join the pageant and become one of the women who are driving themselves towards self-recognition without the titles they possess.

“This is my personal goal and I am hoping it will reaffirm who I am. Not as a mother, business woman and partner but just who I am and the beauty I behold inside and relive me again,” she said.

The requirements of entering the pageant include any woman who was born, raised and lives in Soweto or may have some kind of affiliation with Soweto.

They should be between the ages of 25-35, married, widow or divorced.
