Dobsoville murder accused sentenced to 15 years

Through preliminary investigation it was discovered that the pair were fighting over a girlfriend when Mdlalise stabbed and killed Mdlalose at his place of residence.

Police in Dobsonville secured a sentence of 15 years imprisonment after Nkululeko Mdlalise stabbed and killed Mcebo Mdlalose in September of 2018.

The Roodeport Magistrate’s Court handed down the sentence to the 38-year-old for the gruesome murder on Wednesday, March1 after a lengthy court case.

Through preliminary investigation it was discovered that the pair were fighting over a girlfriend when Mdlalise stabbed and killed Mdlalose at his place of residence.

“Mdlalise is convicted for two charges which count one includes murder which he will serve 15 years of imprisonment, count two will be attempted murder where he will serve four years of imprisonment. He was also declared unfit to own a firearm,” explained Vusi Thokwan of the Dobsonville SAPS.

The Dobsonville acting Station Commander, Colonel Lengau commended the work of the police and expressed appreciation to the efforts done by members that continues to put Dobsonville on the map.

Lengau further appealed to the community to work with the police to root out crime and tighten the grip on criminals.
