Police launch manhunt for cash-in-transit robbers in Protea Glen

“The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money and the police have mobilised all resources to apprehend those behind the attack."

Gauteng Police are on the hunt for suspects linked to a cash-in-transit heist that occurred along the R559 road in Protea Glen last Wednesday, March 1.

According to police reports, it is said that the SBV van was en-route to Soweto when it collided with a vehicle believed to be the armed suspects.

Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said, “Three security guides were injured on impact and were ordered out of the vehicle, where the suspects proceeded to bomb the van.

“The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money and the police have mobilised all resources to apprehend those behind the attack,” said Brigadier Mathe.

Mathe concluded by appealing to the public to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects.
