“We decided to do a peaceful march to oppose bail against the suspects of the accused.

“We feel like crime has increased between the Molapo and Jabulani area and we don’t want criminals in our community,” said Thobile Magobe member of the community.

According to Lesedi’s mother Lindi Khoza, her son was mugged and stabbed seven times by three men near a circle next to Jabulani Hostel.

“He went to Jabulani Mall to withdraw the e-wallet that he received from his sister as a birthday present. For some reason Lesedi decided to take the route of Jabulani Hostel to return back home because we are based in Molapo,” Lesedi’s mother Lind saidi.

Another tearful emotion played out for Lesedi’s family as the court disclosed the actual events that unfolded on the day Lesedi was murdered. His mother wished that all suspects should be given sentences that will keep them away from the community.

“I wish to see the accused arrested and if there was death sentence, that’s exactly what they deserve.

“But I wish to see them being given life sentences. There is no human being that deserves to die the way my son did,” said Lindi.

Although bail hearing was postponed to January 24, Lesedi’s mother remains confident that justice will be served and appreciates the support she received from her community.

“I feel confident that the prosecutor is on my side together with the community.

“This means that the community is fighting for the safety of their beloved ones.

“They shouldn’t stop with me but continue to support all the victims and families,” she concluded.
