The duo, Daniel Boshomane and Karabo Ngwenya started their foundation in December 2021 after they saw a need to help residents, families and schools that are in need by donating sanitary towels, non-perishable foods and toiletries .

The Diepkloof based foundation has worked with various communities including families that lost their belongings to fires in Orlando East and the surrounding areas.

“Our organisation is a result of our underlying love and passion for our communities.

“We have seen that there are various social ills that affect the community and they have nowhere to turn, especially young and elderly people, so this is why we are here, to advocate for them,” Ngwenya said.

According to Boshomane, since the establishment of their foundation they have helped close to 7 489 people and they recently started offering extra classes in art, reading and sport lessons to learners at Thabisile Primary School.

“The name of our foundation speaks for itself. We are not just a foundation, but we believe in God. He is the centre of everything we do.

“As people from the township ourselves, it pains us to see locals struggling or even going to bed without food on their table or struggling to make ends meet,” Boshomane said.

He added that they have received help from and worked with various stakeholders who donated items that were distributed among recipients in the community.

“The community has been really great and our relationship with them has been going great because they are at a stage where they can reach out when they need help or when they experience challenges.”

Although they face various challenges such as that of transportation and lack of resources, they have expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders who lend a helping hand through donations since the establishment of their foundation and calls on residents to join them by volunteering.

“We were not able to this alone; the community has really stepped up and became a part of us.

“We are grateful for everyone who works and help us reach our goal.

“This includes Diepkloof Police Station for transportation and donations.”

“We always call on residents with apassion for helping others to join us by volunteering and working with us.

“We aim to influence people to have the spirit of giving because you can change someone’s life by giving and helping others,” Ngwenya said.

The pair pleads with residents and local businesses to come on board and support a good course by offering donations.
