Tavern shooting case postponed

According to SAPS investigations, over 130 automatic rifle cartridges were found on the scene. 

The Orlando Magistrates court has postponed the case of the Nomzamo Park shooting to allow for formal bail application.

The case against the five men linked to the tavern shooting incident made their third appearance at the Soweto court this morning.

 

According to SAPS investigations, over 130 automatic rifle cartridges were found on the scene.

 

The accused aged between 23 and 45 face 19 counts of murder, multiple attempted murder, and robberies with aggravated circumstances and defeating the ends of justice

The group of men is believed to have opened fire on patrons at Madlose’s tavern on July 10 claiming the lives of 16 people and leaving others severely injured.

The case against the five men linked to the tavern shooting incident made their third appearance at the Soweto court this morning.

It has also emerged that the death toll of the shooting has risen to 17 following the death of 20-year-old Vuyelwe Jokazi who succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
