Nandi Primary pupils receive a beat making experience

The order of the day ended on a high-note with a five years-old beat performer, Lenaka Mpotulo known as Lineek who inspired the learners to make a career from beat making.

Leaners at Nandi Primary School enjoyed their day at the Beat Makers 2022 Market which took place on October 20.

The day saw excited children engaging and imitating Beat Makers, Jed Wilson and Thapelo Modiela in their Amapiano and acapella beats.

According Beat Makers festival director, Ernest ‘Enzo Slaghuis’ Tema, the market was aimed at giving leaners am opportunity to learn music which the team hope they will never forget.

After their two sessions, the pupils were given an opportunity to imitate Beat Makers facilitators by creating their own beats.

“Our facilitators and instructors are musicians themselves, this means the kids are on the right hands. The event geared towards inspiring the learners to learn the art of beat making while exposing them to alternative careers within the creative space,” Tema said.

He added that the team believe that arts makes for an effective teaching tool and that their worship and festival has a goal of providing the children with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of beat making.

Principal of Nandi Primary, France Chiloane expressed heartfelt gratitude to the team for choosing their school and providing the learners with an opportunity to gain skills in music.

Nandi Primary principal, France Chiolane received a certificate from Beat Makers on behalf of the school.

“We are lucky to have been chosen for this. This has positively changed the mind-set of our leaners and shown them that they can do and be anything they want, some of them now want to pursue careers in music,” Chiloane said.

Lineek previously performed with the Beat Makers during their tour at Randburg on October 16.

The school and learners received certificates of appreciation from Beat Makers for their participation in the market.
