‘I can’t take it anymore’ Nathaniel Julies’ mother

The killing of Julies and the dragging of the trial has taken a toll on the mother so much that she said she had to be admitted to hospital and she’s also losing weight.

Nateniël Julies’ mother, Bridget Harris has pleaded with the court to stop delaying the trial and bring the matter to finality.

Harris asked for an opportunity to address the court on Monday this week as the mater entered day eight at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.

Legal representative of accused number three, Vorster Netshiongolo, Onke Maseti was not present in court and as a result, a postponement was proposed.

That’s when Harris asked for permission to address the court on behalf of her son and family.

“This is unfair on our part, as the family has been dragged through this whole nightmare for a long time. It’s been tough on us and we can’t handle it. Now there are postponements after postponements,” said Julies’ mother.

The visible sad and emotional mother went on to tell the court that the matter has been going on for about two years, labelling it a circus.

Harris said, “Someone’s life has been taken away and it’s my little boy. They can go home, see their children and I cannot see their faces again, which hurts me every night when I go to sleep.”

“I can’t take this anymore… Let us stop dragging this thing too long so this nightmare can end because I can’t take it anymore,” pleaded Harris.

Preciding Judge, Cassim Ismail Moosa expressed sympathy with Harris and her family but did not agree that the court proceedings are a circus.

Judge Moosa explained that the court had not stopped its proceedings and was not postponing the case for a long period but postponing it for one day.

The matter continues this week. Attempts were made to get comment from Maseti but his phone went unanswered.
